Windell Pell with Bluegrass & Truth

Windell Pell started his career at the age of 4. The Pell brothers
organized in 1951. He has been writing songs since 1961 and has compiled over 100 of them. He has 16 albums, tapes, and CDs to his credit. In October 2003, he was honored with the “Prolific Songwriting and Lifetime Achievement Award”, presented by Spring Records. He and his wife Connie, live in Pennsylvania, where he is a full-time minister and singer. Windell now heads the group Bluegrass and Truth, playing guitar and singing lead vocals. He established Restoration Family Worship Center in southern Lancaster county, PA. He also built a lighthouse, named "Fulton’s Lighthouse" honoring Robert Fulton, the famous shipbuilder. It is used as a learning facility for American and Biblical history.
Our mandolin player, Bob Padgett, was born in North Carolina, and moved to
Maryland at the age of 16. Bob was inspired by his uncle, Leroy Padgett, to
play bluegrass and country music. He played his first song at 6 years old.
His first instrument was the guitar, then the fiddle, banjo, and mandolin.
The guitar was Bob’s main instrument until he began playing bluegrass with
different bands in 1989. For the past 15 years, he has been playing gospel
and country bluegrass, recording tapes and CDs. He helped organize Touch of
Bluegrass, Sounds of Yesterday, and now Bluegrass & Truth. He is also a
member of North Bay Bluegrass Association. He has performed at high schools,
churches, private gatherings, VFWs, wedding funerals, senior centers,
nursing homes, and political rallies. He often plays as many as six appointments in a
week. Bob enjoys playing gospel music and is grateful for his God-given
talents. Bob appreciates the support of his wife, Cindy, and his family.

Keith Stephens plays the banjo for the group. He is a lover of bluegrass
music, playing claw-hammer and traditional bluegrass style. He has played
with Olla Belle Reed as well as other groups. He has traveled long
distances to perform his music in various venues such as
churches, nursing homes, and benefit concerts. He has
also been involved in building instruments. When Keith and his wife Sandy
travel, he always takes his banjo along, just in case there is an
opportunity to pick and sing. Keith says he feel good in his spirit when he
picks gospel music.
Bob Bradley has had a desire to play music since he was 10 years old. After
trying several instruments, he chose the fiddle, which he now plays for our
group. He has played with various groups over the years, primarily
bluegrass, with groups such as The Mason Dixon Boys. When Bob and his wife
Dottie, winter in Florida, he is the fiddle player for The Orange Blossom
Ramblers. Bob wants to be instrumental in spreading the gospel through
music and songs.
Our bass player is Gary Testerman. He and his wife Nancy, reside in Havre
de Grace. Gary has been faithful to his music, serving as the president of
the North Bay Bluegrass Association, for many years. He has been featured
on many recordings over the years. Audiences really enjoy watching Gary’s
animated style of bass playing. Gary is dedicated to playing music that
glorifies God.
Bobby Long has been playing rhythm guitar for us for several years. He is
featured on our latest recording which will be released sometime in the
future. He has played for various groups. Bobby is also an accomplished
bass player, and now travels and plays bass for Dean Sapp and The Harford
Express. A resident of Maryland, Bobby often travels long distances to play
his music. He is dedicated to playing gospel music.
Connie sings alto and lead vocals for the group. Windell met Connie at a
tent revival, and that night, they sang together. Since then, she has
recorded several songs in Nashville. She has also helped Windell with
writing songs. She has backed Windell in his music career for many years and has dedicated her life to the church ministry and serving God.
Kim McCauley sings high tenor and lead vocals. She has been singing with
the Windell and Connie since January 2001. Kim has written several songs,
one of which has been recorded on the group’s third CD. She serves as song
leader for the church and is very dedicated to the music ministry and
serving God.
